Robin Padilla is COMELEC spokesperson for ARMM automated elections

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Thursday tapped the services of actor Robin Padilla for the voters’ education campaign in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) elections set next month.

This includes the promotion of the optical mark reader (OMR) which will be used by some 1.5 million registered voters. Padilla was reportedly paid 2 million pesos as talent fee which the actor donated to the Liwanag ng Kapayapaan foundation to finance the education of 53 less fortunate children. Padilla converted to Islam in 1996 and has since immersed himself in Muslim communities both in Manila and Mindanao.
