SSS is one of the best Filipino movies I have ever seen. It raises realistic family issues, but at the same time is funny and entertaining. I believe the cast did a good job in bringing the movie to life. The story is superb with its sarcasm and irony, and especially comic interpretation of problems which come with having to raise a family and having to deal with in-laws at the same time. Whoever said this movie does not have substance should go back to school and take up literature 101.
Even if the movie does not win many awards or even if it doesn’t become the top grossing film of 2007, I believe it will become a classic, in which lessons and values can be learned with immense enjoyment.
It is, however, disturbing to hear lines from the film concerning the Visayan language. Hopefully, script writers will be more sensitive to such issues concerning language and people in the future in order to lessen misconstruing remarks. Despite that, in my opinion, SSS deserves two thumbs up. Brilliant work Star Cinema!
