San Beda Red Lions wins NCAA 84 championship

The San Beda Red Lions beat the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers 85-69 and win its third straight National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball championship in Game 3 of the Finals at the Araneta Coliseum.

League MVP, Sam Ekwe led the Red Lions with 21 points while James Sena led JRU with 24 points. The loss was hard for the Heavy Bombers who had their last championship in 1972. “We’ll take this loss and learn from it and hopefully we’ll improve on our weaknesses and be in contention again next year.” said JRU coach Ariel Vanguardia.
