San Miguel Oktoberfest 2008 kicks off with Third Eye Blind

Today marks the opening of the 120-day Oktoberfest 2008 celebration led by San Miguel Corporation.

To start the party, San Miguel brings popular American alternative band Third Eye Blind in Manila. The band known for its hits “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Graduate,” “Losing a Whole Year,” “Jumper” and “How’s It Going to Be,” will be gracing one of the four stages along San Miguel Avenue, in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Aside from this foreign band, local bands such as Rivermaya, The Dawn, Afterimage, Nyoy Volante, Paolo Santos, Jimmy Bondoc, Nina, Rico Blanco, Reggae Mistress, Guarana will give music and entertainment to concertgoers.

There will also be simultaneous parties all over the Philippines. Parties will also be held in Olongapo, Zambales; Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu; and in Davao with bands like Brownman Revival, Itchyworms, Kamikazee, Parokya ni Edgar and Sugarfree.

San Miguel Oktoberfest 120 will span for 120 days, starting September 5 until December 2008.
