Dear Ms. Katrina and the rest of the editorial staff,
I hope you allow an honest to goodness letter to the editor in this site…
I have been buying your magazine since this year to try it out. I do like your features on certain personalities like Kristine Hermosa, Judy Ann Santos. I enjoy most of the magazine and I take note of your editorials always mentioning that you want the magazine to be fun, entertaining and wholesome.
However, the write-up of Jalandoni about some “sex addicts” caught my attention. As a doctor, I have patients in similar situations and they are “sick” that is why they choose this kind of life style. The family background and environment they had breathed had been psychologically unhealthy.. I am surprised that the article wanted to simply expose their situation as if it’s something people can look up to.
Some articles that focus on casual sex also are not in synch with the magazine’s being “wholesome”. Wholesome for me is to be a “person”, not an animal that will display sex anywhere, much less simply an “object” for pleasure.
I know that if I do not buy your magazine, it will not hurt your sales. But I honestly wish you can live up to being “wholesome” by focusing on higher ideals as many of your articles do. I can’t display it neither in the clinic nor at home. I am looking forward to Metro issues that can be wholesome through and through.
