Sine Direk Film Festival

APT Entertainment teamed up with the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines, Inc. (DGPI) in the film festival dubbed as “Sine Direk.”

It features six movies where each director is free to express himself and make a direct contribution to the audience, without interference from “established producers,” which are mostly concerned with churning out predictable products.

The six directors and their corresponding projects are:

Joel Lamangan (Fuchsia)
Soxy Topacio (Ded na si Lolo)
Lore Reyes (Litsonero)
Peque Gallaga (Agaton & Mindy)
Mel Chonglo (Bente)
Maryo J. de los Reyes (Kamoteng Kahoy)

Mainstream stars that are in the said movies are:

Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia, Robert Arevalo, Armida Siguion-Reyna, Iza Calzado (“Fuchsia”)
Paolo Contis, Michael de Mesa, Maricel Laxa and Karylle (“Litsonero”)
Roderick Paulate, Manilyn Reynes, Gina Alajar, Elizabeth Oropesa, Chanda Romero (“Ded na si Lolo”)
Nash Aguas, Yul Servo, Robert Villar Jr., Sharlene San Pedro (“Kamoteng Kahoy”)
Richard Gomez, Ricky Davao, Jinggoy Estrada, Lani Mercado (“Bente”)
Dina Bonnevie, Cherie Gil, Desiree del Valle (“Agaton at Mindy”)

“Sine Direk” will run in SM cinemas from April 29 till June.

    goal namin magkakaibigan na makapanuod ng indie film this year. i got curious kasi from yes magazine? saka magaganda naman talaga mga indie films.. sana lang mas dumami pa maka appreciate.

    me and my siblings have watched fuchsia, and it’s a good movie to watch….we really enjoy watching it…and the next movie we will going to watch is ded na si lolo….

    san po ba makikita ung ibang movie sched aside dun sa mga screening dates. do i inquire directly from sm cinemas? wala kasi sa website nila. thanks in advance

    well this is for NICA. I must say, Filipino Indie films are really great for the number 1 reason that it shows our (Philippine’s) society in an artistic way and it serves as a tool of awakening for us who are blind, if not dead, to what is really going on. ;). make it a habit

    for flor: there will be a film festival in CCP this july bu cinemalaya. it includes candelabra, ang kapatid kong nagpupumilit na makita si ricky davao, saan nagtatago ang ccp, and more.
