The 25th season of CBS hit reality competition Survivor will be called Survivor: Philippines (not to be confused with GMA-7’s local version Survivor Philippines).

This was announced by Survivor host Jeff Probst on Monday night (Tuesday morning in Manila) during the reunion show of “Survivor: One World,” the show’s 24th season where Kim Spradlin was voted sole survivor.

A report by ABS-CBNNews last March 27, said that it was being shot in Caramoan Islands in Camarines Sur. “Actually may ‘Survivor’ doon. It’s a really big production but I cannot (give more details) because I signed a confidentiality agreement. It’s is being filmed right now and it’s going to air in September,” said Camarines Sur Governor L-Ray Villafuerte.

Aside from the location, the upcoming season will have a new twist. 3 players from previous seasons whose stints were cut short due to injury or medical reasons will return.
