The Eraserheads Reunion Concert
One of the greatest Pinoy bands of all time, The Eraserheads will be having a reunion concert slated for August 30 at the CCP Open Grounds.
The news came from a source of the Philippine Star. All the original members — Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and Raimund Marasigan will sing their hit songs, including Alapaap, Toyang and Ang Huling El Bimbo.

tickets are FREE, but it’s really hard to get them as you have to register to Marlboro website and complete the process. what makes it hard to register is you have to submit your ID with information about your date of birth. my prob is our company ID doesn’t have that information.
yes! the site is strictly for SMOKERS AND 18 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE. and so is the event. although i’m pretty sure the non-smokers can penetrate in the event, after lying in their registration.
i’m a non-smoker but i am definitely a big fan of eheads.

medyo na plastikan ako kay ely sa interview niya regarding sa concert. Sabi niya kasi kaya may reunion kasi treat sa fans (tulad ko) at kasi naging maganda naman daw ang samahan nila for the past six years (since breakup)…

tickets? go to the Marlboro website and sign-up to be included on their “red list”. You need to be 18 years old and older to register. You will also be asked to submit a scanned image of your valid ID (i.e. drivers license, passport, etc.) as proof of your age. Once you’re on the red list, then all you have to do is wait.

of our Marlboro Red Nation promotions which we have been running for
the past two years for our adult smokers.
PMPMI supports regulation of the manufacture, marketing and
distribution of our products. This is why we supported the passage and
implementation of the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003.
We respect and will always comply with the law. We believe the event
is permitted under the provisions of the law related to promotions.

What’s wrong with this kind of sponsorship. It’s a clear undertsanding that after signing in the said event you have to fax or send confirmation that you’re 18 years old above or you have to confirm everything thru phone conversation and even in the concert event you have to present valid ID’s for you to veirfy your invitation. PMI did their part in ensuring that below 18 years old is not allowed. I think those people who are trying to hold this kind of event just want to have a MEDIA PUBLICITY for them to be known (Wag kayo plastik). We are a democratic country here and every citizen knows what is right for us and decide what is good or bad. Fans spent years waiting for the band to play again(Live and together). Even you doctors, nurses and DOH employees and FCAP smoke too (Wag kayong plastik). Now the concert is not free anymore are you happy and satisfied (DOH & FCAP). Always Remember that most of the fans of E-heads are in the middle class or even in the low level class. For sure DOH may commission to the new sponsor kasi di na libre….F@#k u DOH and FCAP…..What are the differences between alcohol and tobacco ? It also has negative effects in time (More than the effect of tobacco), right? So why let them sponsor the countries biggest event and even have ADS in media? Think twice or trice ..We are responsible enough to decide on what we want, what to do and whom to listen to! WHY…WHY….WHY…?????????????????????SOB…SOB…SOB….Peace Men….F@#$ers……..

When I fisrt heared the music of e-heads(pinapatugtog ng utol kong nakikipag inuman), sabi ko, “Tol medyo makulit yata ang sounds nyo”, pero that was only for a couple of days only. But after that hindi ko na binitawan, hanggang sinundan ko pa sila sa first major concert nila sa Folk Arts Theater. Astig yun mga chong!!! Sayang ang mga upuan kasi walang umupo during the whole concert, lahat nakatayo at nagwawala. Shaking ang buong FolkArt sa dami ng tao at saya. May matandang couple pa nga dun na sinamahan siguro ang anak na during the tugtugan eh umaangat ang chair nila pagsabay sabay na pumapadyak ang crowd. Grabeng experience talaga! Sa mga hindi nagkaroon ng chance to see that concert, kawawa naman kayo.Nandun ang APO, Medwin Marfil ng Truefaith(duet sila ni Ely singing Don’t look back in anger ng Oasis.Wow! Parang huminto ang mundo).
Sana ganon pa rin ngayon ang mangyari sa reunion concert nila, walang gulo lahat masaya lang and sana gumawa ulit sila ng album na mag rerevive sa rock era. Good luck sa concert and I hope that everybody will enjoy. Naaasar lang kami na nasa Cebu kasi it was such a short notice, hindi na kami makakahabol.

I just heard that ely’s beloved mother died. It was reported on saksi the night before… but the concert will still push through according to the report.

when i first heard about this concert from a friend, i went on the internet immediately to check the specifics out. i too am one of those avid fans of the band that got super excited when i found out about the reunion concert. i love the eraserheads! i read some blogs saying that the concert will be free to those who will register on the marlboro website. as i went on to research on the event a little more, i found out that there are already people arguing about its authenticity. in short, this event that was spread by word-of-mouth (obviously by no less than marlboro/philip morris) and no other formal announcements were made about its specifics (even the venue was withheld until the last minute), caused so much hoopla on the internet. a dream come true to a sponsor that seeks to get attention from its target audience without having to spend a dime on advertisements. then a few days ago we all found out that it is actually NOT a free concert. a big joke, if you ask me. after gaining momentum they announce that you actually have to pay for the concert. it is actually a small price to pay to see one of the greatest OPM bands come together after years of hiatus but all this manipulation, honestly, is just a bunch of crap!
i agree with jarjar that we all should BOYCOTT MARLBORO, BOYCOTT THE CONCERT. if we allow this to go on, what will happen next? i love the eraserheads too but these big sponsors/advertisers are playing as puppet masters and making a mockery of the fans. they should learn to respect us. no more run-arounds. get the facts straight first before announcing it to the public. BOYCOTT THE CONCERT!!!!

i don’t believe that marlboro is totally out of the picture as the reports have mentioned. they got the publicity that they wanted. they will surely be present at the event in one way or another.

Masaya at nakakalungkot ang reunion concert.
Masaya kasi at least nakita ko silang nagpeperform at malungkot kasi napakaiksi lang ng concert.It started past 8 p.m. and lasted past 10 pm.After kasi ng unang set,may nakacountdown dun para sa 20-minute break pero nakakapagtataka kasi lampas na ng 20 minutes di pa sila lumabas ulit.Then after few minutes lumabas na ung band members except Ely kasama nila kapatid ni Ely.
At biglang nag announce kapatid nya,”We would like to thank everyone for supporting the Reunion Concert of the Eraserheads.We however regret to inform you that due to my brother’s poor health because of the emotional and physical stress that he has been experiencing,we apologize for cutting the concert short.My brother had to be rushed to the hospital for medical attention.Again we apologize and thank you to all of you for coming here tonight.Parang binagsakan ako ng langit ng marinig ko yun,nakakalungkot
kasi,una,sayang din yung 844 ko,pangalawa kawawa naman si Ely.
Pero,at least nakita ko din naman silang nagpeperform at nakuha pang magjoke ni Ely kahit papano.For me,that concert was the most memorable concert na nakita ko,kasi napakaiksi at napakaemotional.Halos lahat ng mga tao dun nasa denial stage pa din na tapos na ang concert kahit paulit ulit na sinabi ng announcer kung saan yung Exit.Pero kahit papano,masaya din naman ako kasi at least narinig ko naman yung ibang songs nila gaya ng Alapaap,With a Smile,Fruitcake at Too Old daw sabi ni Ely..hehehe.
Sana gumaling na po si Ely at may reunion concert ulit kahit half hour lang..
Let us pray for him na sana gumaling na sya agad.

Blame DOH and the anti-tobacco activists, that’s why Marlboro pulled out of the concert. Sinalo lang ng Sony BMG and why not Marlboro already did all the buzz marketing for them. They got it on a silver platter. Oh and btw it was the new sponsor’s decision to charge for the tickets not Marloboro. Look it up, Marloboro NEVER charges for ANY of their events, because ITS AGAINST THE LAW to make money from a yosi event.

i was at the concert last night and witnessed another e-heads history…
the concert was cut short, alam ng lahat kung bakit…
since 1st set of songs lng ang kinanta, we all missed to sing-along with e-heads ang huling el bimbo and pare ko…

Hindi ko pa kasi narinig yung Huling El Bimbo,Pare Ko,Magasin,Spoliarium at Hard To Believe eh..hehehe.Willing pa din kong bumili ng ticket.
Saludo pa din ako kay Ely kasi kahit papano he tried his best na ituloy yung concert,alam naman nating lahat na mahirap magpasaya ng tao while sa loob mo malungkot na malungkot ka kasi nawala na yung isa sa mga mahalagang tao sa buhay mo.
Anyways,ayon sa balita,stable na naman daw condition ni Ely as of now.
I am still hoping for an Eraserheads Reunion Concert Part Two….

Do you really think 40,000 people could watch the reunion concert if Philip Morris didn’t pull out? Think of it: the hardest “underground” registration through the internet, then you get screened afterwards if you smoke or not, and you can’t bring your children to watch one of the pillars of modern OPM Rock. Why? Because it was EXCLUSIVE TO ADULTS WHO SMOKE A LOT.
Thank goodness for Sony BMG and Radiohead, EVERYONE got a chance to watch the biggest event this year. It felt like it’s even bigger than the Olympics for the Filipinos.
Sony BMG and Radiohead charged for tickets to compensate for the sum of money Philip Morris had in store for the concert. It was good that they pulled-out, but it was bad they took the “concert money” with them. (It was theirs in the first place, no need to be bitter with that.)
And they didn’t market it , mind you. They knew from the start that what they’re up to was ILLEGAL, so why go public?
Go put your nagging into good use. Try reading facts first before talking crap.
And by the way, SMOKING KILLS. And also causes brain damage in some point.

1) Di ako sa DOH nagta-trabaho
2) Nag-debut na ako last year (just to clarify, i’m not a girl. or anything near that sex.)
3) Nagyo-yosi ako. Pero ayoko na.
I’ve been having chest pains for the past week, and I really think it’s because of smoking. At dahil sa comment response na ito, narealize ko na i’ve been smoking for 8 years already. Nakakagulat. And the fact that second-hand smoking is more dangerous than first-hand, is more alarming. Made me think, “Ilang tao kaya ang masakit din ang dibdib dahil nasinghot nila buga ng yosi ko”?
But the point is, we have to cherish our lives. Hindi Niya ito binigay sa atin para pabayaan. Gusto Niya bumalik ito sa Kanya ng maayos, hindi sunog ang baga. Wala lang, narealize ko lang.
At dahil dyan, mag-petition tayo ng 2nd Eraserheads Reunion Concert. Or reconciliation. Now that’s cool. Smoking is not cool. I’m not cool. But i want to be..

hai..grabe..sayang di aku nakapanood!!!!!tskk…im really a big fan of e-heads!!! grabe…love all of their songs..for me, they are the only filipino band who made such a big impact sa madla!!..ang wish lang nating lahat ay mag reunite na uleet cla…pero mukang malabo dahil may sari-sarili na silang life!..hai..nakakamiss tlga cla..im looking forward sa mga susunod pa nilang concerts!!!

The Eraserheads Band is legacy at this point in time there no one can overcome all their band achievement. As for Ely wish him well and hoping there’s another reunion concert will happen.
