The Singing Bee beats Dyesebel in Nationwide TV ratings
The latest NUTAM (Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement) report prepared by AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines for the month of May showed ABS-CBN’s The Singing Bee barely edging out GMA Network’s Dyesebel by a slim margin to take the top spot.
The karaoke game show registered a 32.6% rating against Deysebel’s 32.4%. Kim Chiu’s My Girl on the other hand, registered a 31.1% rating, which is good enough for the third spot. Occupying the fourth and fifth spots are Angel Locsin’s Lobo and TV Patrol World, with 30.1% and 29.7%, respectively. Robin Padilla’s Joaquin Bordado occupies the sixth spot with 29.3% rating. In the daytime category, Willie Revillame’s Wowowee still leads the pack in the Top Weekday Programs.

i have to say i’m quite impressed with how lobo’s story is turning out. i used to watch it simultaneously with dyesebel, but the latter failed to hook me because of its so-so special effects.
i want to commend the acting of pilar pilapil, angel locsin, and piolo pascual. i especially admired angel locsin as she delivered her lines, if i do remember it correctly, “ako si lyka reymundo. anak ng itim na lobo. apo ng pinakamalakas na waya. at ako ang huling bantay.”, with such intensity that the people who would watch it would suddenly find themselves on the edge of their seats.
i used to not like piolo’s acting in his previous tv series, thinking it was much too overbearing in dramatic scenes, a tad bit overboard in facial expressions than what the story situation really calls for.
for the first time, i have come to appreciate his acting. his skills have been developed far more greater than before. his facial expressions with just the right touch of emotions, his anger showing the height and intensity of a real person if put in that same real situation. his eyes showing the enormous battle lurking in his soul of being torn between love and family.
nothing compares to that particular moment when he found out that the person he loves most deeply is of the same race as the enemies he most despise. you can very much see the shock, denial, confusion, betrayal, hurt and anger clouding inside of him, emitting through his face. they say a picture is worth a thousand words and his was a face that painted a thousand words of emotions.
kudos to the production team, writers, and directors of lobo for bringing out the very best among your actors.

Reviews: Piolo’s Facial Expressions in Lobo’s Crucial Scenes
Okay, I just had to say this, and I can’t wait for the show to finish before I start typing these words. Piolo Pascual is one magnificent actor.
Lobo is still on commercial break, but the scene before this was Noah and Lyka’s wedding. Lyka’s sudden transformation to a wolf left the wedding spectators shocked, causing them to run amok. Meanwhile, the assassin was already aiming at Noah, just waiting for the right second to pull the trigger. Trixie, Dimples Romana’s character, suddenly had a dark premonition, and yelled out that Noah indeed was being targeted. Upon Trixie’s urgent shouts, Manolo, Robert Arevalo’s character, rushed towards Noah and pulled him aside to keep him from being the bullet’s mark while exposing his own back to take the fall. The look on Noah’s face when he realized that Manolo was shot… priceless.
Piolo’s really great with those types of scenes, where one needs to convey a flurry of emotions all at the same moment. In this particular scene, his effortless blending of shock, confusion, horror, guilt, pity, and gratitude, among others, reels the audience in and tugs at the deepest corner of their hearts. Piolo has a knack for depicting very real human emotions. He has that talent of making the audience empathize with his current state of conflict, more so because of his genuine portrayal of the character. The result? Tears that seem to ceaselessly roll down the cheeks of the unaware viewers who remain transfixed on their tv screens

we viewers must be the one who will benefit on this ratings but whats happening..
we are the ones who is more affected in this kind of issue…

yes i would agree with beachbod! LOBO is one of the nicest original story of primetime! the actors and actresses here are wisely chosen to portray their respective characters, and I must admit how LYKA raymundo (ANGEL LOCSIN) has improve a lot compared to her past performances… everyone can now call her the ACTRESS!
never really though i could like her now but hey! everythings change when you also see that such talent has turn into a fine one… i hope she would get a best actress for a job well done… and well keep watching LOBO until it finally ends this JUly… Im Truly proud of the LOBO CAST their totally awesome!

Analyzing the statements of viewers from competing TV stations leads me to believed that GMA fans had exquisite taste in choosing TV programs, highly educated in expounding their thoughts through text, and most of all, class in treating fellow contributors (pros and cons) in this site.
