Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV was literally dragged by policemen out the Manila Peninsula in Makati City after he and other supporters ended the six-hour standoff at the hotel.
Trillanes and his group decided to end the standoff after government troops threw teargas at the hotel lobby and an armored personnel carrier rammed the entrance. Trillanes, Army Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and former vice-president Teofisto Guingona led the siege and called for President Arroyo’s ouster.
