Two Filipinos are finalists in 1st International Manga competition

Elmer Damaso and Jhomar Soriano were recognized by the Japanese embassy yesterday.

They were among the top 15 placers in the first International Manga Competition, a contest that drew 146 nominees from 26 countries. Damaso and Soriano, the artists behind Ravenskull and Mr. Grieves, respectively, received their certificates of award from Japanese Ambassador Ryuichiro Yamazaki at the opening ceremony of Japan Week at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
