Typhoon Ambo (2012) Update from PAGASA

Here is PAGASA’s weather bulletin issued at 11PM, 01, June 2012 on tropical storm “Ambo” (Bagyong Ambo):

At 10PM today, the center of Trop. Storm “AMBO” was estimated based on satellite, radar and surface data at 230 km North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.7 deg. N., 125.2deg. E).

Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Forecast to move north northwest at 11kph.

TS AMBO is expected to be at 285 km East Tuguegarao, City by tomorrow evening. It will be at 290 km east of Basco, Batanes by Sunday evening. By Monday evening, it will be at 550 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Residents living in low lying areas under signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.TS AMBO is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will brings rains over the western section of southern Luzon and Visayas.

Public storm warning signal #1 is raised on the following areas — Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Pollilo Island, Aurora, Isabela. and Cagayan.
