Unilever Philippines suspends advertisements from Willing Willie and other Live Game Shows

Unilever Philippines (makers of Axe, Best Foods, Clear Shampoo, Cream Silk, Dove, Lady’s Choice, Lipton, Ponds, Rexona, Selecta, Sunsilk, Surf, Vaseline, and other products) has decided to temporarily suspend the airing of their products’ TV commercial starting April 11 on Willing Willie and other reality-based live game shows across all networks.

The suspension will take effect until stricter and objective self-regulatory guidelines across networks are observed and the proper enforcement by the relevant government agencies of existing content regulations. The company also recognized that the Jan-Jan incident has drawn mixed reactions from different sectors in the society. Aside from Unilever; Mang Inasal, Procter & Gamble Philippines and Cebuana Lhuillier earlier suspended their sponsorship of TV5′s Willing Willie.

    bakit lahat sinuspend.. takot pa rin ba ang uniliver e pinpoint na willing willie had done a mistake and not to get the ire of willie to the company? thats why sinali na lahat ng network… something is wrong…

    Kaya suspended sa lahat ng network kasi hindi pa naman napapatunayang nagkamali si Willie dahil under investigation pa. Siguro para sayo mali si willie pero hindi pa naman napapatunayan. ang ganyang isip ay isip ng MAPANGHUSGA. Payo ko sayo alamin mo muna ang katotohanan bago ka manghusga ng walang batayan. Tigilan na natin ang siraan, magtulungan na lang tayo para may mangyari pa sa bansa natin. Huwag pairalin ang Crab Mentality kasi yan kaisipan na yan ang dahilan kung bakit hindi tayo umaahon sa kahirapan, gusto natin yung mga nakakaangat lumubog din kasama natin. Kawawa ang Pilipinas kung lahat ng tao kagaya mong utak talangka!

    @ Crab i know who is willie, from his abs cbn stints pa. and from their you can judge what can of person he is. Ilan ba asawa nya? ilan ba anak nya, ilan na ba nabastos sa kanya? ilang beses na ba sya na suspend? kumbaga sa mag aakusa hindi na sya madaling akusahan kasi ganyan na sya before. And i dont need willie in my life, only pathetic people needs him. And mas kawawa ang pinas kasali ka na dun kung iaasa ng pinas ang pag unlad sa iisang tao.. duh.. spirit of the glass tau. ask natin yung namatay sa ULTRA Stampede anu ang comment nila sa nangyayari ngaun.

    sa mga sponsors hindi lang naman c willie ang tinutulongan kundi ang maraming mahihirap di po ba may kasabihan – it is more blessed to give than to receive” di po ba tama ako. kaya sana po supurtahan nyo pa rin c willie kasi alam nyo naman po kung saan napupunta ang pera napupunta po sa madaming naghihirap na kababayan natin.
