However, this blackout lasted 24 hours overall for us.. three hours Saturday morning, then current for two hours then blackout again until Sunday morning. The irony is that we are only a few kilometers from the geothermal plant in Valencia. Hopefully when Cebu and Panay upgrade their systems to fulfill their needs then Negros will be able to keep the power being generated on the island instead of sending it to a politically more important province that taxes the system due to poor planning and a disproportionate use of resources. By the way, there is an error in the story: Siquijor is not connected to the national grid in any way so it was not affected.
