Willie Revillame apologizes for cutting Cory Aquino’s funeral live stream

TV host Willie Revillame on Tuesday apologized on ABS-CBN’s noontime show Wowowee after he drew criticisms for ordering the removal of the live streaming of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino’s funeral procession from his show.

Willie asked the removal of the live stream of Cory’s cortege from La Salle Green Hills to Manila Cathedral, which was being aired simultaneously with the noontime show [see screenshot] yesterday.

He explained that it was inappropriate to broadcast it since Wowowee was supposed to be a fun and lively show and it would be hard for him to make the public happy when he could see the casket of Mrs. Aquino.

“Sa sitwasyon na ito, kung may nasaktan ako, I’m sorry. Sa pamilya Aquino, alam ng buong pamilya Aquino, wala akong masamang intensyon doon,” Revillame said on Wowowee on Tuesday.
