More customers are lodging their complaints against group buying website CleverBuy (cleverbuy.com.ph), whose office in Makati closed and the owners are still at large.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has received several complaints from consumers who paid for travel packages online but did not get any confirmation from the company. They have also not received any refunds.
Even the company’s employees, complained that they have yet to receive their salaries.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued this warning:
“Bago kayo bumili, tumawag kayo sa DTI… We’re issuing a warning or notice to the public on Cleverbuy. Now its up to CleverBuy to show up in our office before we lift this warning,” DTI Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya said.
