In the light of the recent implementation of PLDT myBro’s (previously Smart Canopy) Fair Usage Policy, a lot of subscribers are contemplating on filing for a disconnection (paputol) to transfer to a different Internet Service Provider.
But what if you still have a contract with Smart (up to 24 months) and disconnecting means paying the pre-termination fee?
Here’s a solution, avail of Smart’s temporary disconnection.

Subscribers sometimes request for temporary disconnection due to various causes such as traveling out of the country, lost or stolen computer, PC repair or financial reasons. In the event that you need to temporarily disconnect your SMART Bro subscription, please visit any SMART Store and prepare the following:
Letter of Undertaking
If you will be requesting through a representative, please include the following:
Valid ID of the representative
Authorization letter stating your request
You will need to settle any outstanding balance (including collection and interest fees if any) and pay a processing fee of P336.
For accounts within contract, you may opt to extend your contract instead of paying the pre-termination fee. The number of days to be added to your contract is equivalent to the days you will be temporarily disconnected.
If you are not amenable to extend the contract, you may pay the pre-termination fee to dissolve the contract lock-in period.
