21-year-old KZ Tandingan of Digos City was named the first winner of ABS-CBN’s “The X Factor Philippines” on Sunday night at the Pagcor Theater.
She edged fellow finalists Gabriel Maturan and the male quartet Daddy’s Home in the viewers’ votes garnering 55.45%. Maturan and Daddy’s Home got 32.33% and 12.90% of the total votes, respectively.
Tandingan took home the grand prize of 4 million pesos and a recording contract with Star Music. Maturan (Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte) placed second in the said reality show and took home 100,000 pesos while Daddy’s Home (Quezon City and Marikina City) finished 3rd place and received 50,000 pesos.
Tandingan’s mentor in the said show was international singing sensation Charice whose new hair color has been a target of online ridicule.
