Filipino boxing superstar and Congressman Manny Pacquiao revealed that he plans to run for governor of Sarangani province in 2013.
The revelation was made during a press conference for his 3rd fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas. “Maybe by 2013 I’m running for Governor and it’s going to be hard for me to continue my boxing career.” Pacquiao said. “[I]t’s going to be hard to continue my boxing career because it’s seven days a week and 24 hours a day. It’s going to be a lot of work in the office,” hinted Pacquiao if he does become governor. Meanwhile, promoter Bob Arum together with the pound-for-pound king and his advisors have devised a strategy for the next two years that is aimed toward him fighting five more times before retiring.
