MySpace users who have died are being remembered online at a relatively new web site called MyDeathSpace.com.
When a person dies, they sometimes leave an online profile behind. The tales are mostly those of the very young who died prematurely which includes MySpace users who committed suicide, like Allison Bauer, and those who were murdered, like Stephanie Wagner. There’s a boy, 16, who passed out in the shower and drowned. There’s a 20-year-old whose body was discovered burned to death on a hiking trail; and woman, 21, who overdosed on drugs and was found dead in a portable toilet. MyDeathSpace was started in 2005 by Mike Patterson, who was fueled by morbid curiosity to look up the MySpace profiles of two slain teenage sisters. MySpace is not affiliated with the site, and did not comment.
