PLDT uses different modem and router brands for their Home DSL subscribers. Here are just some of them:
Kasda
Tenda
Zyxel
Baudtec
Huawei
Prolink
ZTE
Speedsurf 504AN
Now just a disclaimer before you continue. Do this at your own risk. We do not accept any responsibility if you messed up your settings and lose your internet connection.
Now, why would you want to do this?
You may have reset your modem on purpose or by accident and now you can no longer connect to the Internet. You may have bought a different modem and want to use it instead of the PLDT supplied device.
Some users also do this because they want to use bridge mode which will not be discussed on this post.
Now on to the steps of the configuration. You can access your modem settings by:
Step 1 – Open Internet Explorer (or Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Opera)
Step 2 – Type in http://192.168.1.1
Step 3 – The default password or login details are:
admin
1234
or
adminpldt
1234567890
so if admin/1234 doesn’t work, try adminpldt/1234567890
Step 4 – enter the corresponding values
Encapsulation: MER (sometimes DHCP or DHCP+Bridge)
VPI: 0
VCI: 100
MTU: 1500
Step 5 – Save or apply the settings
Step 6 – Reboot your modem
If this doesn’t work, the last resort is to call PLDT DSL hotline – 172.
Good Luck!
