(RIP Donna Summer) American singer/songwriter Donna Summer reportedly died after a battle with lung cancer.
She was 63 years old. According to website TMZ, Summer “believed she contracted it [lung cancer] by inhaling toxic particles after the 9/11 attack in New York City.”
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Sudano, their daughters, Brooklyn and Amanda and Summer’s daughter, Mimi (from a previous marriage).
She popularized 70s hit songs — “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls” then in the 80s, she came up with hits like “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.” She was also a 5-time Grammy winner.
