Smart Communications will be offering a Pocket Wi-Fi device so that non-LTE compatible devices will get to experience up to 42 Mbps of download speeds under Smart’s LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network.
The said device, which is a rebranded Huawei ES89, up to 10 devices — including smartphones, tablets, and laptops — can connect to high speed internet.
It will available in a Postpaid plan for 1,749 pesos per month and we’re guessing this has a lock-in period of 24 months. You also have to pay a one time fee of 2,000 pesos for the device. It is also available for Plan 3500.
You can now preorder this Pocket WiFi device, just go to http://www1.smart.com.ph/bro/lte/about and select LTE Pocket WiFi in the Device dropdown menu.
Meanwhile, Smart has also launched an “LTE is here” campaign, where establishments with the “LTE is here” sticker are assured to have LTE signals.
