#CJOnTrial – The Vice President for legal affairs of the University of Manila, Dean Joe Bisquera believes that 11 senators will vote for the conviction (guilty) of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.
He based his analysis on the senators’ personal conviction, political commitment to the Aquino administration, and their political plans.
The 11 senators are Franklin Drilon, Francis Escudero, Teofista Guingona III, Serge Osmeña, Ralph Recto, Francis Pangilinan, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Panfilo Lacson, Aquilino Pimentel III, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Jinggoy Estrada.
Meanwhile, he believes that only 4 senators will vote for acquittal, they are Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Manny Villar, and Joker Arroyo.
16 votes are required to remove the Chief Justice from office. The senators will likely hand down a verdict on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
